It’s called ‘La Tomatina’ and this annual event dates back to a spontaneous food fight between villagers back in 1945.
The event has taken place ever since, aside from a period in the 1950s when it was banned by General Francisco Franco's dictatorship.
Around 150,000 kilograms of fruit was prepared for this year’s event - but don’t worry, they’re highly ripe and safely squishy.
