6:57Now PlayingA lawyer, John Oloyede, says there are corrupt judges in Nigeria's judiciary just as they are also corrupt ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari's cabinet and even governors.
He expressed the belief that the issue of the judges' arrest and their indictment by some security agencies would turn out to be a good thing for the nation.
"Something pure will come out of the black pot," he says.
Mr Oloyede further said that the claim of one of the judges in his letter to the National Judiciary Council that he had evidence of attempts by the Minister of Transport to coerce him to doing his bidding should not be ruled out.
He was of the view that "for a justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria to leave that kind of allegation in writing against a serving Minister, one cannot just trivialise it".
"Especially because i remember reading in some parts of the letter to the National Judicial Council, that certain things have been attached to the letter and these facts as contained in those attachments are verifiable.
"Now when a justice of a Supreme Court says he has attached certain things or certain documents that are verifiable, it says a lot about the person making that allegation. It says a lot about the fact that this is somebody who wants to defend his integrity.
"I assume that we are on the home run in Nigeria and the unexpected and unanticipated visit by the DSS is about the last straw," he said.
The lawyer asked Nigerians to be expectant that something good would come out from the investigations and that Nigerians would be the better for it.
