YouTube Description
as posted by the channelBruce Carrington from Brownsville, Brooklyn, won the U.S. Olympic boxing trials and had his sights set on the 2020 games in Tokyo before the coronavirus pandemic delayed the games to 2021.
He's already had many challenges to overcome. Brownsville is one of the deadliest neighborhoods in New York City and his brother was shot in a "seemingly random murder" in 2014 while walking down the street. The loss hit him hard, hurting his ability to focus on boxing and school. After losing the 2015 Golden Glove finals he decided to train even harder. He competed at the national level and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team.
