Though in Texas, this hospital is a gun-free zone, this means even if you have a concealed carry permit, you’re not allowed to carry a gun into the hospital.
On Saturday, a danger that had already claimed two lives was put an end when a Methodist Health System officer shot and wounded a shooter inside the Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
This guy was a felon on patrol wearing an ankle monitor, and he was still able to get a gun illegally, bring it into a hospital where you’re not allowed to bring guns, and shoot two people, which is also illegal.
This shooting, more than any, should prove that gun-free zones do not work. They are a false sense of security that makes you feel safe, but in reality, you are not safe.
Gun-free zones reward the people willing to break the law and punish the people who obey the law.
