So, what is the CMMG Dissent MK47?
I have no idea. I know what it’s a combination of, but what it is exactly, I have no idea. And you know what? I’m okay with that because, if nothing else, it’s cool.
But if I were going to give it the old college try to examine what it is, it’s a rifle chambered in 7.62x39 with a 14.3-inch barrel, which on the surface sounds like an AK-47 until you find out it has a short-action direct impingement system. So now you see why I have no idea what this thing is.
I guess the easy way to explain it is to call it the result of an AR-15 and AK-47 bumping uglies and forgetting to pull out. I’ll let y’all choose which rifle forgot to pull out.
Whichever one it was, it doesn't matter because it seemingly takes all of the good parts of each rifle and throws out the bad, causing me to ask the question: Is this mutant of a rifle a better AK-47 than an actual AK-47?
