James Talarico sounds calm, moderate, and reasonable.
That is exactly why this matters.
In a Texas House speech, Talarico argued that refusing to restrict AR-15s meant ignoring “God’s messengers.” Not from New York. Not from California. From Texas.
And that is the move.
He is using God to pressure people into restricting a God-given right: the right to protect yourself and your family with the most effective tools available.
But once you look past the tone, the record tells a different story.
According to the script, Talarico has supported an assault weapons ban, a magazine ban, voted against constitutional carry, and compared constitutional rights to permissions that require permits.
That is not moderate.
That is the same gun control agenda with a softer voice.
The politician who says, “I support the Second Amendment, but…” is often more dangerous than the one who tells you the truth up front.
Because if that playbook works in Texas, they will use it everywhere.
James Talarico sounds moderate until you look at the record.
