Commonwealth Fusion Systems is at the forefront of efforts to commercialize fusion energy, widely seen as a potential source of abundant, carbon free power, as governments and industry seek solutions that support both climate goals and energy security. Under Bob Mumgaard’s leadership, the company has accelerated advances in high temperature superconducting magnets and reactor design. It also plans to deploy the first commercial fusion power plants.
