The Partnership for New York City is a nonprofit group of businesses who work to improve the economy of the city. It was founded in 1979 by David Rockefeller and affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce. Later the two groups merged under its current name, Partnership for New York City. The goal was to have business leaders work with private organizations and government to improve New York City.
