This past Memorial Day weekend, the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Georgia hosted a 20th anniversary tribute to the men and women killed in the 1991 Gulf War. Retired General Barry McCaffrey spoke, and a wreath was laid by other commanding officers from Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. A specially designed flag was raised, and stones inscribed with the names of the dead were unveiled.
The National Infantry Museum is located adjacent to Fort Benning, Georgia; and this event occurred immediately after the graduation of a new company from Fort Benning's Infantry School.
