1:54Now PlayingLifelong friends Norman Mineta and Alan Simpson -- a former Transportation Secretary and Senator, respectively -- returned this summer to the Heart Mountain internment camp in Wyoming, where Japanese Americans were forcibly detained during World War II. Mineta, who was incarcerated there with his family, met Simpson through the Boy Scouts. They were joined by Senator Daniel Inouye -- a Medal of Honor recipient who served with the famed all-volunteer, Japanese American 442nd Regimental Combat Team -- to dedicate the Heart Mountain Interpretive Learning Center.
