as posted by the channel

See Coronado State Monument as we learn about the conquistador and explorer Francisco Vásquez de Coronado—who with 300 soldiers and 800 Indian allies from New Spain—entered the valley in 1540 while looking for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold. Instead he found villages inhabited by prosperous native people from the area. The is New Mexico's first state park and although named after Coronado, is also an archaelogical site featuring a pueblo settlement dating back to 1300.
