Kettering is best known for his invention of the "self-starter", which would replace the crank start on the front of the vehicle. This story will be told inside the Deeds Barn at the Heritage Center of Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship at Carillon Historical Park. The barn is where Kettering and many of his fellow engineers spent their time working on their inventions.
