10:23Now PlayingVisit the Minnesota State Capitol. Designed by American architect Cass Gilbert, the Minnesota State Capitol is considered an architectural masterpiece. The classically styled building, which boasts the second largest self-supported marble dome in the world, features 23 different types of stone, including 16 varieties of marble from around the world, and granite and limestone from Minnesota. The Capitol is currently under a 272.7 million, comprehensive renovation to restore the building to its 1905 appearance. We’ll visit the House and Senate chambers, the restored Rathskeller Café, and the building’s rotunda which is currently under construction.
