Washington Today (2-17-23): Dozens of U.S. lawmakers at Munich Security Conf. to support Ukraine

Dozens of top U.S. lawmakers of both parties attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany, in a show of support for continuing to supply military and economic aid to Ukraine, with the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion next week. We will hear from Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE).

A recreational balloon club in Illinois thinks one of the aerial objects recently shot down by the U.S. military in Alaska could be theirs. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby asked about critics who say President Biden overreacted to the spate of flying objects detected the past week.

A commission in Canada finds Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was justified in invoking an emergency law to put an end to last year's protests over COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccination requirements that had gridlocked streets in the capital city Ottawa and closed border crossings.
