Solemn ceremonies are held on the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks at Ground Zero in New York City, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that for many Americans affected by the terrorist attacks, it can feel as if life has largely returned to normal, but not for those who work at Pentagon. He said, 'We don’t just work near a memorial. We work in a memorial.'
Secretary of State Antony Blinken visits Kyiv, Ukraine with the British Foreign Secretary, pledging another $1.5 billion in aid and discussing allowing Ukraine to use long-range weapons to strike into Russian territory.
