The Senate Finance Committee approves Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to be Health & Human Services Secretary on a party-line 14-13 vote, sending the nomination to the full Senate. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) provided the final 'yes' vote after he says the nominee and White House gave him their commitments to protect the public health benefit of vaccines.

The Senate Intelligence Committee favorably reports Director of National Intelligence nominee Tulsi Gabbard to the full Senate on a 9-8 party line vote. They met in a closed session. The vote came after three Republicans who had been skeptical of the nominee over her stances on National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden and the Section 702 surveillance program gave their support.

President Donald Trump is asked about China retaliating against his tariffs on their products with tariffs on U.S. goods, and reports that the Education Department may be next on the list of government agencies to be dismantling by Elon Musk's Dept of Government Efficiency.
