Shortly after the news conference, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (DNY) said on the Senate floor"I just saw something that sickened my stomach; the manhandling of a United States Senator. We need immediate answers to what the hell went on." Full video here
Speaker Johnson responded to questions, saying "It was wildly inappropriate. You don't charge a sitting cabinet secretary...A sitting Member of Congress should not act like that...that behavior at a minimum it rises to the level of a censure."
