Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) gave a barefoot tribute to the late Grateful Dead guitarist and singer Bob Weir on the House floor Wednesday. Mr. Weir died last month at the age of 78 from cancer-related lung issues.

Rep. Huffman delivered his remarks barefoot — against the House’s dress code — as an homage to Mr. Weir, who was frequently barefoot and reportedly enjoyed running outdoors without socks or shoes.

“I think he would appreciate that,” Rep. Huffman said, lifting up his foot and pointing it to a laughing audience.
