White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday said it was "quite plausible" that Democrats were aware of the allegations against former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who resigned from Congress Tuesday amid accusations of sexual misconduct.

"I think it's also quite plausible … that there were many other Democrats in this town, on Capitol Hill, who knew about his, perhaps illegal behavior, certainly his disgusting and inappropriate behavior, and why were they silent for so long?" she said.
