YouTube Description
as posted by the channelSen. Mark Warner (D-VA), the top Democrat on the Intelligence Committee, on Tuesday criticized President Trump’s decision to name Bill Pulte acting director of national intelligence, calling the move “insulting” to the intelligence community.
“Mr. Pulte has absolutely no intelligence background. He has no national security background. The law was written to prevent this kind of appointment,” Sen. Warner told reporters. “What he does have is a record of manipulating public information, even as the housing czar, to try to pursue attacks against President Trump’s enemies.”
Mr. Pulte currently serves as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, a position President Trump said he will retain while serving in the DNI role.
He has used his position atop the housing agency to press for investigations into several of the president’s political adversaries, alleging mortgage fraud by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook and former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).
