1:06Now PlayingPresident Trump on Tuesday said the U.S. was "not finished" with its military campaign against Iran despite claiming the country "desperately" wants to return to diplomatic negotiations.
"You don't know what the dialogue is behind the scenes, that they want desperately to try and end it because they're getting decimated," he told a reporter in the Oval Office after she said there were "no signs" Iran was ready to stop fighting.
"They want to desperately meet. And until they're ready to meet in a meaningful way, we have no interest."
The president said it would take Iran decades to rebuild if the U.S. withdrew now, but that he had no immediate plans to do so.
"If we left right now, it would take Iran 20, 25 years to rebuild. Okay? And we're not finished at all," he said.
