“You know the President likes to switch it up on social media a little bit,” he said.
The video, posted to Trump’s Truth Social account, appears to show oil storage tanks and refineries immersed in flames from a helicopter overhead. The message alongside the video describes Kharg Island as “being blown to smithereens.”
“He would be the first to say he doesn’t make announcements about military actions on social media,” Vance said. “But I think he’s sending a message to the Iranians.”
Vance said Iran continues to target commercial shipping and warned that the United States has “tools at our disposal” to prevent such attacks.
