Biden is expected to speak on this today (I’m sure he won’t take any questions about it), but the justification from the White House is the HEROES Act signed back in 2020.
With HUGE endowments of major universities totaling BILLIONS of dollars, without actually improving the value of their accreditation, we should take the lending out of the hands of the government and put it back into the hands of these universities.
Let’s really call it what it is: This ‘debt transfer’ is an attempt by Democrats to gather votes for the upcoming midterms in November.
