Ukraine is suffering daily net losses of troops and resources, making its war effort unsustainable. Western claims that long-range weapons could bring Russia to its knees are unrealistic, since Russia has withstood far heavier and longer-lasting bombardments than Ukraine can deliver. The U.S. and NATO lack the industrial capacity to replenish weapons stockpiles, which are already dangerously depleted, and supplying Ukraine at current levels only accelerates this shortfall. This creates “twin pressures”: Ukraine’s forces are being ground down, while NATO’s ability to sustain support is shrinking.

Even if the war ended now, it would take 5–7 years to restore U.S. stockpiles, yet the aid continues at about $1 billion per month. NATO rhetoric about sending peacekeeping troops is considered hollow—Western countries lack the manpower to deploy the 300,000 troops required, and their forces are already overstretched. Ultimately, analysts argue Ukraine cannot win under these conditions, and continuing the war only ensures its eventual destruction, while NATO leaders make promises they cannot practically fulfill.
