Col Doug Macgregor argues that the Ukraine war is effectively lost and that Russia will ultimately dictate the post-war settlement in Eastern Europe. He predicts a major geopolitical shift: Germany will withdraw from both NATO and the EU, claiming that Germans are ending their “Stockholm syndrome” toward the West and rejecting the idea that Germany must remain subordinate within the Atlantic alliance. According to this view, Germany’s departure would collapse both NATO and the EU, since Germany is the central pillar holding them together.
He also claims that historically, Germany and Russia have had mutually beneficial relations, and that the two world wars were unfortunate anomalies. Both societies, he argues, now understand the need for a cooperative future—even implying a future German–Russian alignment.
The speaker harshly criticizes Western “neocons,” accusing them of promoting destructive wars, encouraging mass migration into Europe, and ignoring Nazi symbolism among some Ukrainian troops. He further states that European leaders publicly support prolonging the Ukraine war despite believing Ukraine cannot win.
Corruption in Ukraine is highlighted, including reports of Zelensky associates fleeing to Israel. The speaker suggests Zelensky is increasingly unsafe and may eventually flee himself.
He claims most Ukrainians (including in western Ukraine) now want the war ended quickly and that any future government in Kyiv will need to be friendly with Russia or risk Russian military advance to the Polish border.
The speaker argues the West has never respected Russia’s security concerns in Ukraine and bears major responsibility for the war’s destruction. Finally, he asserts that U.S. billionaires control American foreign policy—toward both Ukraine and the Middle East—and are driving decisions to keep Zelensky in power and continue confronting Russia.
