Trump's No Outsider, Legalizing Drugs & the 2-Party Duopoly | Jo Jorgensen | POLITICS | Rubin Report

Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Jo Jorgensen (Presidential Candidate, Libertarian Party) about why Trump is not the outsider he pretends to be, the myths of the war on drugs, and why the libertarian party has taken the place of the Democratic Party for anti war voters. Jo discusses why Donald Trump has failed to drain the swamp and proven himself to be just another politician. Under his leadership the deficit and the national debt has continued to spiral out of control. He has also failed to bring troops home from Afghanistan as promised. While he refuses to act like a politician he has proven himself to be just another Republican. Jo argues that a government is simply bad at problem solving. Proof of this is what billionaires like Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey do with their money. Despite their insisting that they should be taxed more, they devote large portions of their income to foundations like the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to do work for the public good. Jo also points out the insanity of the free money illusion with stimulus checks since it is all funded by tax dollars that we all had taken from our checks. Jo debunks many of the myths surrounding the drug war. She points out how the prohibition of most drugs has only increased crime and made the drugs themselves more dangerous. She compares the current war on drugs to prohibition of alcohol which increased the incentives for people to make their own and sometimes deadly black market alcohol. Jo makes the point that despite being more addictive there is no black market for tobacco and alcohol due to the fact that there is a free market for these substances. Jo shares her thoughts on what happened to the Democratic party that used to be seen as being anti war. She sees the Democrat establishment’s treatment of Tulsi Gabbard as further proof that the Democrats have no interest in ending wars. She points out that libertarian party takes the best from the Republican and Democratic Parties. Jo also gives examples of how the free market and corporations were decades ahead of Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on issues like gay marriage and offering support to gay couples. Finally Jo responds to the rumors of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and makes the case for voting libertarian.
