The Atlantabased swimwear designer revealed that her mother went in for a simple liposuction procedure, but due to unsterile equipment used during the surgery she contracted a nearfatal infection.
After witnessing her mother's scary situation Jerrika tells viewers that it's very important that they thoroughly investigate and research the doctors they are visiting. She then reveals that she's thought of starting a campaign to tell young girls her mother's story as a warning about the risks of cosmetic surgery.
