When asked about Ray Charles making a move to country, Lord Jamar said that he's unsure if a lot of Black fans followed the legendary musician either.
During the conversation Lord Jamar also revealed that he grew up listening to country music because his mother was such a big fan, and he even recited a line from Tanya Tucker's "Delta Dawn" to prove his point.
The New York emcee ended the conversation by wishing Nelly good luck in his new country music career and said he believes that the St. Louis emcee will be successful due to the popularity of the genre right now. He added that country as a whole is moving more records than Hip-Hop, and pointed to Taylor Swift's massive success in music today.
