Anthony Hamilton on Seeing His Uncle Kill Another Relative with a Shotgun (Part 1)

Anthony Hamilton started off this clip by speaking about growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina in the 70's and being raised by his mother until he was 14. Anthony explained that his mother took a toll when his stepfather died, and he knew he needed more stability in his life, and he was adopted by his friend's family when he was 14. When it comes to his father, Anthony explained that he was in and out of his life, adding that his father was in love and focused on his relationship with a younger woman.

Anthony went on to recount witnessing the grisly murder of his cousin's husband by his great-uncle when he was seven-years-old. He talked about how that event impacted his life moving forward and how it exposed the level of violence people are capable of inflicting. Anthony also detailed trying his hand in the dope game but quickly retired after realizing the stress that came as a result.
