He pointed out that they were going up against LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys, who were two of the biggest hip-hop acts at the time. Chuck went on to speak about why he wanted Flavor Flav, not himself, to be the star of Public Enemy, adding that it's Flav's job and led to his nickname, "Flavor Jackson."
