Dwen Curry on Being Shot in 2 Robberies, Set Up in Drug Deal By a Guy She Was Seeing (Part 7)

In this clip, Dwen Curry talked about getting a bodyguard in the late ’90s around the time that things began getting hot for her. She recounted being robbed and shot by a group of ambushers one night after leaving her hair salon. Dwen said the entire ordeal left her with PTSD as she couldn’t quite wrap her mind around the fact that someone attempted to take her life.

Dwen Curry also opened up about the first time she was shot, which was followed by another incident in New Orleans. Dwen explained that she was in New Orleans with a friend after the friend’s brother was indicted by the feds, and Dwen spoke about going to a motel the night before she was set to leave the city. From there, Dwen went on to speak about having on a Versace belt, which ended up saving her life when someone opened fire on her while she was driving. However, Dwen was struck in the arm, and when she got to the hospital, she realized that the bullet also hit her belt buckle. After that, Dwen went on to share a story about hanging out with a man who set her up, and she decided to move to L.A. after that.
