1090 Jake opened up about his turbulent childhood in Massachusetts and Florida, and his troubles with the law at a young age. Born in Malden, Massachusetts, Jake moved to Tampa, Florida at the age of 13, living first with his grandmother and later his aunt. Pampered by his single aunt, the young boy began exploring the darker corners of the sunny state, gaining a reputation for being a ‘bad’ kid and getting involved in petty crimes. Jake had his first run-in with law enforcement at only 16 years old. He was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and burglary, leading to his first stint in juvenile detention. However, Jake was crafty, and managed to escape numerous times from a behavior modification program. He was eventually re-arrested on a warrant and spent 21 days in a Tampa detention center, after which he managed to beat his case.
