In this clip, 1090 Jake recounts pleading guilty to four felonies related to a burglary and weapons charges. He explains that a man he looked up to owned a significant number of guns and had brought him to the gun range prior to Jake being a convicted felon. Jake decided to steal from the man's home, and was caught with one of the stolen guns a few weeks later. Initially, he faced 19 felony counts, including an armed burglary charge which is punishable by life in Florida, but he was able to have the charges reduced to four through a plea deal. He was then sentenced to 36 months in state prison. Jake mentions how older inmates gave him advice on how to navigate prison life and discusses the anxiety of waiting to see what the reality of serving time would be.
