Gene Deal on Biggie Selling Publishing to Diddy for $200K Early in Career (Flashback)

In light of the news of Diddy returning publishing to former Bad Boy artists like Ma$e and Lox, we take look back at the 2022 interview VladTV did with Diddy’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal. During the sit-down, Deal explained that Biggie didn’t respond to 2Pac’s scathing “Hit ‘em Up” diss track under the advice of Diddy. Deal explained that Diddy owned Biggie’s publishing and marketing, which meant that he had to listen to what the Bad Boy CEO said. Deal then spoke about Diddy buying a portion of Biggie’s publishing for $200,000 when Biggie was broke. Deal suspected that the deal was for a large percentage of the late legend’s publishing.
