In a recent interview, Shawn Prez and Nicholas Irving discussed the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Prez mentioned that war started in 2021, after Russia built up a significant military presence near Ukraine's border. Putin has been critical of Ukraine's desires to join NATO and has even questioned Ukraine's right to exist. This conflict, now in its second year, is still poorly understood due to lack of media coverage, according to Irving. They speculated about the motivations behind the warfare, suggesting it could be based on territorial disputes, resource control, or simply financial incentives. Irving expressed his frustration about the billions of dollars being poured into military aid for foreign conflicts while numerous domestic issues go unresolved. He also questioned the sustainability of such spending, suggesting wars never truly end, just prolong, and expressing uncertainty about the future of the conflict.
