Brian Angel of Day26 opened up about the unique experience of working with music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs during their time on the reality show "Making the Band." Despite their prior music industry experience, being under Diddy's tutelage was a different ballgame altogether. Angel shared that upon entering a room with Diddy, his intimidating presence was palpable, though not fear-inducing. Instead, Angel described it as needing to be prepared for whatever mood Diddy might exhibit that day.
Angel also touched on the creative control struggles the band faced. On their first album, they had little input in song selection, with the material pre-decided. While successful, reaching number one on the Billboard charts, Angel expressed that more autonomy in their music choice could have brought even greater success. Despite these challenges, Day26 acknowledges the incredible opportunity and learning experience they gained under Diddy's guidance.
