Former U.S. special forces sniper Nicholas Irving weighed in on the tragic Bondi Beach shooting, expressing his no-nonsense approach to such situations. Discussing the incident where a husband disarmed one assailant but spared his life—a decision that proved fatal—Irving stated he would have “shot the guy without question” if he had disarmed the shooter. Irving emphasized the harsh realities of violence, saying he couldn’t relate to the “level of humanity” shown by those who hesitated to kill a lethal threat.
Highlighting Bondi Beach as a “soft target” due to its crowded, open environment, Irving revealed that he even carries weapons to the beach for protection. He praised the bravery of Ahmad al Ahmad for disarming one of the attackers despite being wounded but admitted he would have acted more decisively.
“I would have blown his whole chest and face off,” Irving said, underscoring his belief that lethal force is sometimes necessary to save lives.
