Former Army sniper and ICE officer Nicholas Irving recently addressed the controversy surrounding the shooting of Renee Good, who was reportedly shot four times. Contrary to opinions suggesting the officer may have used excessive force, Irving firmly defended the shooting as justified and necessary. He explained that in high-stress situations, with adrenaline pumping and fear for one’s life, multiple shots are often required to stop a threat effectively. “I don’t think one or two shots is enough; you’re asking for trouble,” Irving said. He stressed that officers must continue firing until the target is fully incapacitated, emphasizing, “More holes is better.” Irving also extended this perspective beyond law enforcement, advising anyone defending themselves in a life-threatening situation to shoot repeatedly until the danger is neutralized. His unapologetic stance underscores the brutal realities officers face and the mindset needed to respond decisively under pressure.
