as posted by the channelWhen you’re faced with choosing and making decisions, it can feel natural to rush ahead, follow your heart, or react emotionally in the moment. Yet, this usually results in regrets.
God’s Word reminds us that wisdom in making decisions comes from trusting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). This verse anchors both our salvation and our daily choices, because Jesus is our Lord and Savior who lovingly rules our lives and guides our steps.
In this week’s devotional, we reflect on what it means to slow down, pause and pray, and submit our decisions to God instead of relying on our impulses or outside pressures. We pray for God to give us wisdom, wait on His direction, and choose the path that glorifies Him even when it requires patience or humility.
Trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior frees you from regret, anxiety, and self-reliance, and it teaches you to walk in obedience that flows from love, because Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). We’re not obedient in order to be saved, which would be a false works-based or Lordship theology. We are obedient because we are so grateful to God for saving us, and our love for God springs out of our new heart.
