as posted by the channelThe first time I appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, she mailed me a hand-signed letter thanking me for being on the program. I had it custom framed because it meant so much to me at the time.
Today, as a Christian, I’m burning that letter. It’s one of the last visible remnants of my life before Jesus saved me. Back then I was unknowingly spreading the spiritual deception that I was under. This moment reminds me of Acts 19:19 where those who had practiced sorcery publicly burned their scrolls after turning to Christ.
This video explains why we as Christians must avoid Oprah’s platform. Oprah’s website and magazine continue to promote tarot cards, witchcraft content, and other New Age practices, just as her show once platformed those teachings.
As someone who has been rescued by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I can’t remain sentimentally attached to something that helped spread beliefs contrary to God’s Word. This is about repentance, separation from deception, and allegiance to Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
If you’ve come out of New Age or occult practices, I pray this encourages you to recognize, repent from, and avoid these dangerous practices and to believe the Gospel and fully embrace Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
