Yet God’s goodness doesn’t change with our circumstances: “For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations” (Psalm 100:5). God’s goodness is perfect goodness. It’s steady, unchanging, and trustworthy even in seasons that feel confusing or heavy.
In this week’s devotional from the Trust in the Lord series, we reflect on how remembering God’s goodness can change the way we face hardship. Instead of allowing discouragement to take root, we count the blessings God has already given us and turn to Him first in prayer rather than reacting with worry or frustration. Gratitude helps lift our eyes from our problems back to the goodness of the God who cares for us.
God’s Word also gives a beautiful picture of hope in Isaiah 61:3, where He speaks the garment of praise in exchange of a spirit of heaviness. When heaviness settles on the heart, sincere praise reminds us of who God is and what He has done. As we sincerely thank Him for His goodness and faithfulness, our perspective begins to change, and trust grows stronger.
No matter what you’re facing today sister, you can trust God’s goodness. His love remains constant, His faithfulness continues through every generation, and His goodness will never fail.
