YouTube Description
as posted by the channelđ¨NEW: Israel publicly and relentlessly blamed Hamas for the deaths of Shiri Bibas and her children, but all along, the IDF knew Hamas had not abducted the family â and even told Hamas who had, so the group could try to locate them for Israel, Ynet reports.
Nitzan Alon, the outgoing head of Israelâs Hostages and Missing Persons team, told Ynet:
âWe had a category we called âMost Probably Deadâ â MPD. Take the Bibas family, for example. We knew who abducted them. We informed Hamas who the kidnappers were so they could locate the bodies and return them.â
The childrenâs remains were eventually returned during the ceasefire â after Israeli air and artillery strikes most likely killed them. Israel later claimed, without evidence, that the fighters holding them suddenly chose to strangle the boys to death. No forensic evidence supporting that claim has ever been made public.
