Senator Tommy Tuberville Asked About Israel Blocking Press Access to Gaza

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), a staunch pro-Israel lawmaker who has backed expanded U.S. military aid to Israel and opposed humanitarian assistance to Gaza, told Drop Site’s Julian Andreone that he sees “some good reason” international journalists are barred from entering Gaza, calling it “dangerous” and saying he did not “want to point a finger at anybody.”

When asked whether Israel may be blocking press access to prevent the world from seeing what is happening on the ground, Tuberville said “it’s pretty much over with,” adding that he had not seen reports of Palestinians being killed recently.

Earlier Wednesday, multiple Israeli strikes hit displaced Palestinians across Gaza, killing at least 24 people and injuring 38, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The dead included five children, among them a 5-month-old and a 10-day-old infant, seven women, and a Palestinian Red Crescent paramedic killed in a double-tap strike while evacuating the wounded, the Associated Press reported.

In the same exchange, Sen. Tuberville was also asked about Jeffrey Epstein’s possible ties to foreign intelligence agencies. He replied: “Where there’s a lot of smoke there’s fire.”
