As talks of a potential deal between the U.S. and Iran continue to circulate this week, Drop Site’s Jeremy Scahill says there should be no expectation that Israel’s wars across the region are nearing an end.Although Israel succeeded in getting the U.S. to wage a massive bombing campaign on Iran, it failed to achieve what was one of the war’s ultimate goals: bringing down the Iranian government.
Scahill says the U.S. not only can’t restrain Israel’s broader expansionist “Greater Israel” project, but wouldn’t even if it could, arguing that many American politicians support its expansionist regional agenda.
