🚨 44 children and 37 women were among 112 members of the Al-Hasayna and Abu Sharia families laid to rest at a joint funeral in northern Gaza after Civil Defense crews recently recovered their bodies from beneath the rubble.

Footage from Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah shows relatives carrying the remains of victims killed when Israel bombed homes where generations of families had gathered.

“The first house was bombed, so they fled to a second house, then to a third, searching for somewhere safe to hide,” family elder Nahed Al-Hasayna told Drop Site. “These were all children and women, peaceful and innocent. For what crime were they killed?”

At least 308 members of the two families were killed in the November 2023 attack. “The largest massacre was 153 martyrs in a single house,” Al-Hasayna said. Six entire families were erased from the civil registry and some victims’ bodies were completely obliterated.

Ibrahim Abu Sharia told Drop Site he lost two sons, two brothers, two nephews and three grandchildren.

“We believed that house was safe, but there is no safety with the occupation.”

More than 8,500 Palestinians remain missing across Gaza.
