Imagine 3,000 people being born again in a single day. That's what happened on the Day of Pentecost. But what happened next? God set a pattern for spiritual growth that takes believers from conversion to maturity in Christ, and this pattern still applies to us today.
In Episode 5 of "Born Again, What Now?", Duane Sheriff teaches what he calls the four basic food groups of spiritual maturity. Using Acts 2:42, he explains the growth path the early church followed after 3,000 people were added to the kingdom. Just as physical health requires a balanced diet, spiritual growth requires a steady intake of the apostles' doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers.
Many Christians genuinely love God but still feel spiritually immature because they have never learned how to feed their inner man. Duane explains that God's Word is spiritual food that nourishes, strengthens, and renews us from the inside. He shows why understanding the New Covenant, having fellowship, the breaking of bread, and learning to pray rightly are essential to becoming a mature disciple.
