The FBI has identified a suspect in Wednesday’s fatal crowd attack in New Orleans as 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a Texas resident.
According to a statement from the FBI, additional potential explosive devices were discovered in the French Quarter, separate from the site of the incident where a vehicle was driven into a crowd, resulting in at least 10 fatalities and numerous injuries. FBI bomb technicians are currently evaluating whether these devices are functional.
Authorities have also confirmed the discovery of an ISIS flag in the suspect's vehicle and are investigating possible ties to terrorist organizations or extremist affiliations.
The FBI urges anyone with information or video footage related to the attack to submit them through their official portal at fbi.gov/bourbonstreetattack or by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.
