4:04Now PlayingTensions are sharply escalating between the two nuclear powers India and Pakistan. Delhi overnight targeted what it called a terrorist camp inside Pakistan. Indian media say up to 300 people may have been killed in the raid. It's the first time in many years that Indian warplanes have crossed the Line of Control dividing the contested Kashmir region. Pakistan acknowledged that India violated its airspace, but denied reports of casualties. Tensions have been growing since Kashmiri separatists killed 40 Indian soldiers two weeks ago.
The Indian foreign secretary says Delhi acted on "credible intelligence" that Pakistan-based militants were plotting more attacks across India. The EU has called on India and Pakistan to exercise "maximum restraint".
