There were fears of mass casualties and onlookers reacted with anger. Police told DW the driver of the tanker was apprehended for his own safety. It's not clear whether he deliberately drove into the crowd. An eyewitness said a woman was the only person injured. Follow DW's US correspondent Stefan Simons as he experiences the incident firsthand while reporting from Minneapolis.
