as posted by the channelIn western India, almost an entire fishing village is asking for permission from the courts to die. 600 people in a Muslim village. Their reason – harassment from authorities who have prevented them from fishing.
Admittedly, it is a strange request, given that active euthanasia is illegal in India. Euthanasia means doing something to cause a person’s death.
DW Correspondent Nehal Johri travelled to Gujarat state to see for herself what prompted this petition.
